When our client came to us ready to remodel their kitchen (or let’s be honest—completely overhaul it), we knew this would be a special project. They wanted a space that was not only beautiful but also highly functional—a place where they could cook, gather, and truly enjoy their home. Together, we brought that vision to life, and the result is a modern, yet warm kitchen that feels both elevated and inviting.
A Modern Take on Classic Design
The foundation of this kitchen is a stunning combination of deep gray cabinetry paired with warm walnut accents and brass hardware. Our client originally proposed incorporating walnut into the island design, and we loved the idea so much that we suggested weaving that rich wood tone throughout the space.
The island now stands as a centerpiece—a custom-built walnut masterpiece with sturdy legs, detailed cabinetry, and storage galore. We echoed that walnut touch in the custom range hood trim, tying the whole design together and creating a timeless contrast against the gray cabinets and light quartz countertops.
Custom Cabinetry Built to Last
As with all our projects, every cabinet in this kitchen was custom-built in our workshop. From the island storage to the wall cabinets with glass doors, each piece was thoughtfully designed to maximize functionality while maintaining a clean, cohesive look.
The brass hardware adds a touch of warmth and elegance, perfectly complementing the rich wood tones and deep gray paint. We also incorporated practical details like soft-close drawers and tailored storage solutions to ensure this kitchen isn’t just beautiful—it works hard for the family who uses it every day.
The Hidden Walk-In Pantry
One of our favorite features? The hidden walk-in pantry. What looks like a tall cabinet from the outside actually opens into a spacious, fully organized pantry. Inside, we built custom shelving and incorporated pull-out walnut trays for easy access to canned goods, snacks, and kitchen essentials.
This feature is the ultimate blend of form and function—keeping everything organized and out of sight while seamlessly blending into the cabinetry.
Small Details, Big Impact
Throughout the design process, we focused on details that would enhance both the aesthetics and functionality of the kitchen. A few standout elements include:
- Mixer Lift Shelf: A pull-out shelf for a stand mixer, making baking easier while keeping countertops clutter-free.
- Pot Filler: A convenient pot filler over the stove—because little luxuries like this make cooking that much better. (Although we can't take credit for this one - the contractor did this!)
- Open and Closed Storage: A balance of glass-front cabinets for displaying favorite pieces and closed cabinetry for everyday essentials.
A Space Made for Gathering
At the heart of this remodel was the desire to create a space where family and friends could gather. The large island offers seating and prep space, while the open layout flows effortlessly into the rest of the home. Whether hosting a holiday dinner or enjoying a quiet morning coffee, this kitchen was designed to be lived in and loved.
The Final Reveal
When we handed this kitchen back to our client, their reaction made all the hard work worth it—they absolutely loved it. Seeing their excitement and knowing that this space will serve their family for years to come is why we do what we do.
This project was a true collaboration, and we’re so grateful our client trusted us to bring their dream kitchen to life.
