Did you know that Derek built a bar for our wedding?
This bar is where the bartenders served drinks at our wedding reception and now it has a home in the basement of our first house!
We wrapped the base of the bar in pallet wood, which we stained black. And did you spot the chevron detail on the front? Ali is only slightly obsessed with the pattern (have you seen our chevron boards?) so we knew we had to incorporate that into this one-of-a-kind piece. And the brass foot rail adds a classic touch.
For the top, we used a live edge white oak slab that was milled off Ali's family farm. It's a one-of-a-kind piece that has a lot of sentimental value. And we think the white oak really pops against the black base.
What would any bar be without wine storage? This wine rack holds 28 bottles of wine! And we opted to make make the rack really pop against the black stain by using white oak with a simple clear coat.
Since we registered for big wine glasses as wedding gifts, Derek made custom wine glass holders to make sure they would fit!
There is plenty of storage in this beautiful modern rustic bar. We have closed storage and open storage for anything we might need to entertain family and friends.
