We got the opportunity to build some pieces for a client that supplied their own lumber from their property. We love when we get to utilize wood that has a sentimental meaning! Today we are highlighting the plant stand. (To read more about the bench we did, click here.)

This plant stand was built out of elm, which is not a wood that we've worked with a lot. To get the coloring to coordinate with the other oak pieces we built, we utilized a vinegar technique.

We incorporated three shelves that provide plenty of storage for any plant lover! Each shelf is designed like a tray to ensure that no plants fall or slide off.

Because the top shelf sits lower than the top of the stand, we opted to add a bar at the top for support and to give them iece a more finished look.

We finished it off with a satin clear coat finish.
