We love our repeat clients! Last year, we built a walnut bar top for their basement kitchen remodel. They must have been happy with that, because they asked us to come back and help with a storage solution for their mudroom.
This modern farmhouse style built-in fits the style of this home perfectly. With two kids and a puppy in the house, our clients needed plenty of space for storage to keep everything organized. We added four cubbies on top, which will be the perfect spot for storage bins to hide everything within reach.
We kept the details more traditional with the style of crown molding and coat hooks to stay true to the home. We added two sets of coat hooks in each cubby to provide plenty of places to hang coats, backpacks, etc.
Although the built-in is primarily white, we wanted the bench top to create a pop! Our clients wanted something that was stained, but not with a lot of grain - so we chose to stain a piece of maple...actually, we dyed it and then stained it to make sure we got the exact color that we wanted - and we love how it turned out.
